Director, MBA Career Management
I am delighted to be the Director, Career Management for the MBA program. I love the mission of the Marriott School, which is “to engage men and women of faith, character, and professional ability who will become outstanding leaders and positively influence a world we wish to improve.” My goal is to help all of you launch a wonderful, rewarding career that will bless you, your family and community your entire life.
A Little About Me:
As a BYU Marriott School (MOB) grad I networked into a rotational development program of a Fortune 200 Pharmaceutical company (Merck). During my 30+ years in Human Resources I have had many fun career experiences:
My wife and I recently returned from serving a mission together in the Adriatic North Mission. We moved from Texas to Highland, Utah to be closer to our children and grandchildren …and, of course, BYU!
Please know my door is open—I would love to meet each of you and try to be helpful as you start your next career adventure.
Assistant Director, MBA
Shawna Gygi joined the Marriott School as Assistant Director of MBA Career Strategy at the Marriott School of Brigham Young University in 1996. Her work and that of others, has been instrumental in positioning the BYU Marriott School MBA as a great place to find talent. Shawna is focused on relationships of trust with company executives, corporate recruiters, faculty, administration, students & alumni. These connections have resulted in a vast network which, when appropriately leveraged, has positively impacted the Marriott School MBA placement record.
Prior to BYU, Shawna worked for several years in industry acquiring skills in marketing, sales, training, recruiting, business development and joint venture relations. Add this to the almost 20 years with the Marriott School, this substantive experience is utilized to prepare students, then broker relationships between corporate partners and BYU MBAs.
